David Ayer Replaces Antoine Fuqua To Direct ‘Scarface’ Remake

Universal has been very keen on getting their remake of “Scarface” in front of cameras, and have even set a release date for next year, and while they have a star in Diego Luna, they haven’t had a director. Antoine Fuqua had been attached for a while, but exited to focus on “The Equalizer 2,” and while David Mackenzie (“Hell or High Water“) and Peter Berg (“Deepwater Horizon,” “Patriots Day“) were said to be possible replacements, another name has landed the gig.
