Three things. 1) it’s interesting how Netflix plays by its own rules. If you look at any 2017 TV schedule, every network and cable channel have had their release dates listed for months, and often a trailer arrives several months in advance. Not Netflix. Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, made his Netflix debut in season 2 of Marvel’sDaredevil.” In that series, Castle was seen as a brutal force of nature that would stop at nothing in his quest for justice. What separates him from the other heroes in the Marvel Universe is that his form of justice normally includes horribly maiming people and killing them. Fans instantly loved Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the character and wanted more. Continue reading Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ Trailer: Justice Is Coming at The Playlist.

What happens when Netflix has four separate successful shows based on superheroes? Well, more accurately, three great shows about superheroes and one pretty terrible one about a superhero. But he lives in the same city as the others, and a three-superhero team just doesn’t sound as good as four, especially considering two of them have hooked up in the past, so you get the idea. Well, they team them up and make the show “The Defenders,” that’s what happens! Continue reading New ‘The Defenders’ Teaser Unites Marvel’s Heroes at The Playlist.
