2014’s “Nightcrawler” is easily one of actor Jake Gyllenhaal’s best films. While the actor has been great in a variety of roles, Lou from “Nightcrawler” is Gyllenhaal at his best. The role is equal parts charming, creepy, and downright scary. That’s wh…

Louis C.K. has been in the news a lot recently, both for his recently premiered film “I Love You, Daddy,” whose first trailer was released today, and his refusal to answer personal questions about his past (noted in this NY Times article). His ne…

It’s been a bit of a weird year for Patrick Stewart. First, he voices poop in “The Emoji Movie,” and now he has a quite ungodly mane of hair in the upcoming comedy “The Wilde Wedding.” As you might guess from the title, it’s about a wedding that gets wild, in the way they only do at the movies. Also starring Glenn Close, John Malkovich, Minnie Driver, Jack Davenport, Yael Stone, Peter Facinelli, Noah Emmerich, and Grace Van Patten, the story follows an aging actress who is getting ready to marry her new beau, but when she invites her ex-husband to the nuptials, things get wacky. But if you’re feeling like you could use some imaginary geo-political intrigue rather than whatever is going on in reality, then “Unlocked” might fit the bill. Certainly, the cast is pretty good with Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom, Michael Douglas, Toni Collette, and John Malkovich starring in the story that follows a CIA operative who gets compromised and has to fight to discover the truth. Somewhere between a bunch of commercials and a half-time show, a game of football was played last night, and it was a doozy. The Super Bowl went into overtime for the first time in history, the New England Patriots reigned supreme and fans got one helluva show. And advertisers got a lot of eyeballs. You’ve likely already seen the onslaught of movie and TV related promos that dropped during the game, but if that wasn’t enough, the stars cashed some big paychecks to promote everything from tax services to jewelry and we’re rounded it all up below. Continue reading Super Bowl: Melissa McCarthy, Adam Driver, Christopher Walken & More Feature In Star-Studded Game Day Ads at The Playlist.
