Given that I’m still behind on “Master Of None,” “Fargo,” and “The Leftovers” (among a handful of others), my bandwidth for new TV shows at the moment is pretty small (and only going to narrow with new seasons of “Bloodline” and “House Of Cards” coming up). Months after the Fox head told the Television Critics Association that an “X-Files” renewal could happen “shortly,” the network has finally followed through, announcing a new order of 10 episodes to (likely) air sometime in 2018. Next year marks the 70th anniversary of India’s independence and the creation of Pakistan. It only seems fitting that there’s going to be a movie released detailing the events leading up to that historic event, and “Viceroy’s House” will do just that, taking viewers into the days leading up to India’s independence through the eyes of the last Viceroy during British rule. “Downton Abbey” star Hugh Bonneville leads as Lord Mountbatten, who is given the task as the last Viceroy in India.
