DC Films and Warner Bros. probably didn’t want it to be this way. “Justice League” is supposed to be the centerpiece showcase of their cinematic universe, yet the film has been just as plagued with second guessing as “Suicide Squad.” Even had Zack Snyder not left for personal reasons during the film’s post-production, there still would’ve been massive reshoots to try and fix the movie, and Joss Whedon still would’ve been employed to write additional material — enough that he now has a screenplay credit on the movie. With Universal pressing the brakes on “The Bride Of Frankenstein” at the eleventh hour (it was due to start shooting in February), many assumed that whole Dark Universe thing was over.
