It’s no secret that some of the most talented filmmakers and actors are turning their attention to TV. So, let’s welcome back David Fincher, who after helping launch “House of Cards” in 2013, is now returning to Netflix with his series “Mindhunter,” a psychological thriller about serial killers. In other words, very on-brand Finch. While plot details are sparse, the project is based on “Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit,” the book by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker which chronicles Douglas’ time working as an FBI profiler tracking some of the most notorious and sadistic serial killers of our time.
