Now that four “Avatar” sequels have been green lit and their cost has been reported at a staggering $1 billion price tag, the conversation that endlessly circles the James Cameron-created blockbuster is just how irrelevant the movie supposedly is. And to be fair, looking around the movie and pop culture landscape since 2009 when “Avatar” first came out, the movie’s influence and impact feels largely negligible. Is the highest grossing movie of all time ($2.7 billion) completely passé and insignificant? Continue reading Kate Winslet Joins James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ Sequels at The Playlist.

It’s been 20 years since James Cameron made one of the biggest blockbuster dramas of all time. Titanic told the tragedy of the cruise liner that sunk in the freezing Atlantic Ocean on April 14, 1912, all through the eyes of two forbidden lovers played by then-rising stars Kate Winlset …

The movie is about a young boy who has the hots for his babysitter. When she brings her friends over to his house for a night of fun, he discovers they’re actually part of a satanic cult. Then it twists into a fun survival horror, where he must fight back and figure out how to make it through the night. Starring Judah Lewis as the kid, with Samara Weaving, Bella Thorne, Leslie Bibb, Hana Mae Lee, Robbie Amell, Emily Alyn Lind, and Andrew Bachelor. This actually doesn’t look so bad, it’s bloody and violent and seemingly quite funny, who would’ve thought. Take a look. Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for McG’s The Babysitter, direct …

Sony teamed up with Marvel Studios to allow Spider-Man to swing over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn’t mean that Sony is content to give up their entire piece of the superhero pie. They still own the rights to dozens of characters in the Spider-Man pantheon, and they’re …
